This restaurant offers an all-day breakfast and full bar service. There's an early bird special from 6am to noon featuring eggs, hash browns and toast—and you can go straight from that to the lunch soup and super sandwich combo. For dinner, you can feast on steak, seafood or Italian main dishes. All of the dinner meals can be accompanied by wine, ale, or hard stuff from the bar. To top it all off, they even have a kids' menu.

I discovered the Saucer in the 70's when I went to Niagara college in Welland. After long nites of partying..it was THE ONLY PLACE to get decent food! 30 years later, and it still delivers the best grub around! Ya can't go to N.F. without a visit here. Now, I take my husband and daughter there..let the tradition continue.
Fav. pics
Cheese balls with blu cheese dip (very difficult to find these!) Gooey and yummy!
Footlong Dog with fries and gravy.
Milkshakes are to DIE FOR!
And die you surely shall cuz this is a heart attack meal...but WHAT A WAY TO GO! Never had breakfast there but it looks yummy and great value for your buck! You won't be disappointed. The food comes fresh & hot and you don't have to wait dockey's ages for it either. Some of the serving staff has been there for over 20 years and THAT says something doesn't it? GO TO THE SAUCER...IT ROCKS! Signed a 30+ year satisfied customer

Hello, I have been a life long resident of the Niagara region , and until recently have never been to the Flying Saucer, but was told by others that the food was excellent, good portions , great atmosphere. Well , the first time i went i took my daughter after picking her up from school , i think i had a grilled chicken panini sandwich which wasn't too bad . Recently we went back again , and since it was near dinner time , i decided to order something that i thought was going to be healthy and decent portion size so i ordered a charbroiled chicken dinner with mashed potatoes and veggies ............ well , what is written on the menu and what you get in front of you is another thing . I ended up with 2 schrivelled up pieces of what looked like pigeon meat, i counted three pieces of broccoli and 8 baby carrots along with a ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes , all for the price of $13.99 ! My daughter and i looked at the table beside us , there was a family of 5 and the one child had a kids meal of grilled cheese sandwich and fries and they probably had 3 times at much food as i did and less than half the price ! I told the waitress i wasnt pleased with the meal, she said she would tell the chef , i'm starting to wonder if the meal came from a Swanson Hungry Man dinner ( i think they even had better portions than this ), so i didn't get any response back, ended up paying the whole shabang , i should have not touched the meal and walked out, so anyone that wants a decent meal, don't come here, dirty , not great service and the food sucks plain and simple ! I think i will call Chef Ramsay and tell him this place needs a makeover , im surprised there still open, just a tourist trap .

Owner couldn't care less if you died from eating there. Ignorant users of the public! REPORT THEM PLEASE!!!

I was there 4 times in a week for the breakfast - didn't do any other meals there but the .99 was super. found the waitress to be friendly (maybe the patrons aren't - that'd change anybody's attitude). no complaints
going back in April and we'll try it at least one time to see it's as good as 5 years ago.

My husband, our friend and I really like the whole atmosphere of the place and the food is great. The thing I like about the place is that you can go there late at night after seeing the Falls on Clifton Hill in Niagara Falls and go for a really good meal. The prices are reasonable and the look of the restaurant is cool. This is one restaurant that we would never miss and we will always keep coming back. The staff are very friendly and we love it.

Hate this restaurant. It has been horrible! The appearence is horrible, and the food is like waste. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON IT.

It's definitely kitschy (bordering on sketchy) and certainly not a gourmet mecca, but this eclectic joint has been fuelling this city's early mornings for some time now. The major draw is the 99-cent breakfast, served between 6 a.m. and noon, consisting of two eggs, hash browns and toast. If you don't like that, there's got to be something on the voluminous menu to interest your palate!

I'm stunned by the other reviews, as this is an incredible place. I've been going here for over 20 years and it's consistently great.
The whole flying saucer theme is cool, the service is always friendly, and the food is so good I wish I had a second stomach so I could eat more.
My usual order is the Saucer Burger with meat sauce on the fries and the side of coleslaw - it's a very filling meal and always done perfect. The Poutine fries are a good substitute for the regular fries if you want the meal to be more "Canadian".
Add an appetizer and the meal usually comes to $12 or so.
You will wait a bit for the food as they don't make it until you order it, but I'm fine with that. And there's a lot more than just hamburgers on the huge menu, but that's just my favorite thing to order.
Give this place a try. Even with the cool saucer atmosphere, the food is still the star here.

We have been wanting to try this restaurant and were a little hesitant. No one we knew had ever been there. We went in and it was a diner style, but it was so cool! We had the $.99 breakfast, when I ordered coffee I didn't know I was going to get the whole pot! The service was super fast, and the food was great, we will definetly go back this summer!!!

My family visited Niagara for the very first time this year , We came across the Saucer because we were staying on Lundy lane , On our first day we had breakfast at the Flying Saucer and may I add the staff was fast and friendly , The food was delicious and the coffee was the best I have had , We loved the Flying Saucer so much we decided on our last nite that we would have dinner there , May I add the food was nothing short of spectacular , The staff again was very courteous . My family really enjoyed our visit and plan to visit again soon and the Flying Saucer will be our first choice ...

Perfect for that hangover you should have after a long thorough night of drinking, gambling, and whatever other trouble you can find around the Falls..... I've never heard anyone complain about a breakfast here and that should encompass, oh about 200 or so meals. Take a picture out front and then head inside and fill up. And don't worry, the place doesn't spin.

Where to start?? First of all, they sat us in a table over by the take out menu so we had to listen to the milkshake machine going every few minutes and them fight and argue over menu orders. Secondly, our meal was absolutely terrible. My husband ordered the steak and shrimp meal and the steak was almost entirely made of FAT and one of the shrimps had a HAIR in it. I ordered the Chicken Parmagiani and the spaghetti that came with it was HARD as if it had sat out for ages.
Thirdly, we were forgotten about by our waitress. Once our meal was given to us, we never saw her again. She didn't come back to ask us how our meal was, to offer more to drink...NOTHING!! Then we had to wait for the bill. Had to ask someone TWICE where our waitress was so we could get our bill and I wanted to say something to someone about the food.
Finally when she arrived with our bill, I told her about the state of our food and she just looked at me angrily and then went on to tell the man at the take out counter(who I assume was the manager) about my complaint about the food. He didn't apologize...all he said was, "Why are you only complaining now? Why didn't you say something to someone before?" He was angry at me when he was saying this. I told him that there was no one around to tell or I would have. No one offered to do anything for us. NOT EVEN AN APOLOGY for the state of the food. I was led to the til where she rang in my bill of $59.34 and didn't say ONE WORD to me!! Just had a miserable look on her face. I will NEVER go back to this restaurant!! My husband and I go to Niagara Falls every year and we recommend alot of places to people we know who go there...obviously, this WON'T be one of the places we recommend!!

I wasn't sure about this place when I pulled up but inside the place was hoppin' and to my relief the dishes and tables were clean! I had a big breakfast of potatoes, bacon, 2 eggs and toast for $2.99 Canadian. The dollar size children's pancakes are enough to feed any reasonable appetite and the coffee was good. It's fun for kids, too. They will feel like they're doing something special. Outdoor seating is available.

Get away from the tourist traps and enjoy some of the local flavor of this restaurant. Authentic atmosphere and good food -- our best in Niagara. Waitresses were friendly and even brought our son an extra dessert for free. In the Lundy Lane section. The haddock, deep fried with fries. It doesn't get any better.

Place was dirty but I"ve seen worse. Food was good and the portions hearty. I found that the waitresses, most,( ours was fine) to be very rude and could care less about the customer and just seemed to waste time just waiting to go homes. I asked for the key to the upstairs rest room (it was loc ked) and was rudly told they could"nt find it, use the downstairs rest rooms, the upstairs was for the handicap and they did'nt want to get it dirty. Surprise, even if I did't have a cane or a wheel chair I am handicapped and have a plate on my car that proves it. Walking up stairs is difficult for me but they did'nt want to hear it. Next time, if the family is hungry and others places are full, I MIGHT stop. If I were you I would make this a last choice.

My hubby and i went there 3 times this past weekend on our trip there and it was very good food, great prices and amazing breakfast!!! the first morning we went there we got the ET special oh boy there was : 3 large eggs 2 peices of toast 2 large pancakes 2 saugages 3 bacon or 4? home fries good size all for like $6 I thought to get a med orange juice well i was wrong it was HUGE!!! there is also a special from 6 am - 11 am for 99 cents you get : 3 large eggs 2 peices of toast home fries great size!! My 5 year old daughter got the kids pancakes there were 6 good size pankcakes dont remember the price but it was good. we also went there for diner one night and hubby said there hambugers was the best!! i had the fish it was good, and my daughter had a kids meal of grilled cheese and fries it was also a great deal! that night at dinner there was my self, my hubby, our daughter, my mother, and her boyfriend and with drinks and dinner it coast less then $60 If you are in the area its a must to go!! The service was also amazing and fast!!!!!!

I think the price and portions makes this place great for most people...The value may be unbeatable but at the end of the day you hear people complaining about the food. What do you expect for a steak that cost $10. Based on value you can't go wrong....after a long night of partying anything that is edible is acceptable...but don't do there for Dinner expecting a steak that you would get at Ruth Chris Steakhouse or even Canyon Creek....expect something more like you neighrbourhood steak shop that is plain and boring and most times not cooked to roder.

Love this place. Food is always fresh and tasty. Service is good.
Only problem is that it's very popular, so you want to get there early on a weekend!

Very questionable reviews. Having worked at this place in my teenage years, and knowing the local lore about the place, I can tell you for a fact that if you're looking for a cheap meal at 3 am, then go nuts.
Otherwise, the waitstaff is nasty, the owners are bitter and ignorant, the food is barely edible, and the atmosphere flat out bites.
It's called the flying dump for a reason.
It seems like most of the reviews are padded by someone with some sort of relation to the restaurant.
Go greasy? Fine. Go for an actual meal? Don't even bother...

Best bottom dollar breakfast
For a lottle over a dollar these days you can get the special which is not huge but well worth the under 2 dollars your paying.
drinks are a little pricy but with a large chocolate milk my meal is still about 6 bucks sooo i dont really care. in highschool when we were over at a friends refreshing our selves for most the night. this was heaven and a hangover cure the next morning

Love it. My boyfriend and I have been coming here for 5 years. We live 45 mins away and sometimes just spur of the moment we decide to drive down for a quick meal. Everyone is always friendly. Its cheap and tastes good, great portion sizes too.. sometimes I have to take half of it home. Haven't had a bad meal there. We keep going back.

MMMMMM....so good. you can't get any better than a casual laid back resteraunt that offers good food, for low prices. The saucer has to be one of my favorite places to eat. Not only is the food good, but the atmosphere is awesome, quaint, fun, and the employees are so friendly. I definitley reccomend the saucer, their chicken burgers and mozza sticks...TO DIE FOR!!! So if your in town you should definitley try the Flying Saucer!! :D

My family and I live 2+ hours away and we always go to Flying Saucer when we're in The Falls. We've been going there for 10 years now and love it! No complaints at all. The food is great (especially the chili cheese fries) and the waiters are friendly.

You basic fast food dump. Slow service. I ordered the liver dinner (trying to avoid another burger) & was amazed that they had processed liver patties. Must be hard to source as I don't think many food suppliers would be interested in carrying such an inferior product. Good enough for the tourists.

The people commenting that the food is terrible, why do you even bother living ? this place clearly has been around for more than 30 years

Was served by Judy Jetson...the Space Burger was good but the Spacely Sprokets left a little to be desired. Heard that the steak was made of Astro.

Loved the place! Big booths, friendly staff and cool atmosphere with air conditioning. Food was a little pricey but well cooked and generous portions. The shakes were great! Would definitely recommend this restaurant to any tourists looking for American-sized portions.

Was once good, now it's garbage all the way around. Garbage and irresponsible staff serves BROASTER CHICKEN complete with DEEPFRIER RUBBER GASKET cooked with your food, and then tried to collect it back when I got really sick! LILLIAN (owner) said that getting sick wasn't her problem.

i'm sad to read some of the comments
we just moved to welland and went for lunch nothing bad to say the service was great then in the summer i took my familly from quebec and they were in awe with the resto my daughter and familly from kincardine also just love the food i will be going again i work for they owner in 1969 they were great to work for stop complaining

This restaurant may be good on price as long as you don't stray from the specials. But when you have a family of five with different taste the prices add up and the cost of the drinks are crazy. We never got past the drinks that was a budget breaker by itself.

My family has been going to the Saucer for years and it never disappoints. Every once in a while you get bad service but the food totally makes up for it! If you`re feeling a little bit under the weather, I suggest the split pea and ham soup, or any soup for that matter! The soups are homemade and will have you feeling like a million bucks the next day! If you`re hungry and have a diverse family as far as dining goes, the Saucer has just about a little bit of everything to suit everyone`s individual tastes! Don`t like burgers or hot dogs? Try one of their wraps or fajitas! In a rush? They also provide a pick up service! In conclusion, The Saucer is worth every single penny, and then some!

Don't mean to be a nagging downer, but I went here for the first time with my sister and her friend when visiting Niagara Falls for her Bachelorette party and my sisters pancakes had cardboard in it, when we told the waitress she firstly didnt apologize but she continued on to argue that it was already half eaten, and that it was probably just from the pancake box? which is still totally unacceptable, we remained calm and polite however as she went into the kitchen to see what the cook how to say, when she came back she said she couldnt take any amount off the bill and when we demanded to see the manager a woman with rubber gloves on soaked to her elbows came out and rudely said whats the problem we explained and she again, rudely said no we cant do anything its from the pancake box, and turned her back and walked away before we could even get a word in. Overall not a good experience, they get so busy and so many tourists that they dont really care what your complaint is or how rude they are because they know they will be getting new costumers, new tourists regardless.

Great restaurant,, Always busy.. and great prices.. Highly recommended.

Been there once. Food was frozen and cooked. Place was filthy, staff running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Tried getting a glass of water while we waited and waited for our food but was ignored.
Owners are nasty people.Fake laughs, very mean lookin. The one waitress a big heavy blond with obviously died hair was repulsive. Didn't look like she washed her hair in weeks.
Wont ever go back!

My boyfriend and I travel to the Falls a few times a year for little romantic getaways. We found this place last year and have been back 4-5 times since then. BUSY place so expect a wait o weekends but well worth it. Good food at a great price and vegetarian friendly too!!

I don't know how people think that this restaurant is terrible, not once did it cost my dad and i 50$ for lunch, you need to check your prices nor do the waitresses tell you what to order. also, the washrooms are old this restaurant is almost 80 years old, get over yourself.

This is the worst Restaurant I've ever been too. Everything that arrived at our table was burnt (except the salad, which clearly had come from a bag).
The service sucked too! The server left dirty plates on our table for most of the meal, the food was over salty, and nasty.
We didn't even leave a tip... it was so bad! $55 for 2 people for a quick dinner, CRAZY! Will never go back, EVER!

We always stop here when in the Falls (2-3 times a year) because it is consistent. It is a diner, a greasy spoon and good food fast. The menu is huge as are the portions. The specials are always well worth it. The service is very, very fast. It is popular with locals which is usually a good sign. The washrooms are relatively clean and well stocked with soap and paper towels. There is not a better value around than the 99cent breakfast before 11AM. Buy any beverage(like a pot of coffee for $1.29) and get 2 eggs, homefries and toast...try that at Denys.

We had their special. Buy any beverage and get eggs, home fries and toast for 99 cents!! The place is full of locals which is hardly surprising. Huge portions and interesting decor. Don't visit Niagara without having breakfast here.

Ate there last night and it wasn't that bad. I would go again if I had a chance. I got chopped sirloin and it was a good size portion with fires and a veg price $8.95. A 32 oz soda was $3.50

Just the look of the restaurant makes you at least want to try it. The sevice was friendly and quick, the food was good, and so was the portions. You should try this place for a unique experience.

First impression - how dirty and dark. The waitress upsells many many extras without letting you know the price. In fact she lied about a few things on the menu - very misleading. $50.00 for a lunch of basically thawed out fast food. Terrible experience.
Washrooms incredibly dirty as well

We ate here daily because my husband loved the food. It is very similar to New Jersey diner food, good food with huge portions. The restaurant can't be missed, it's the only UFO that I saw on Lundy Lane. Good coffee (a must!) Breakfast items Texas Toast (huge slabs of toast)

We had already been burned by the high prices of downtown Niagara Falls restaurants so decided to venture a bit further out and were thrilled to find the alien restaurant with its indoor retro-diner atmosphere with an outdoor carhop option. We ordered seafood and burgers and were so stunned not only by the quality of food but the quantity as well. Our $11 (Canadian price) fried scallop platter included the scallops, potato, vegetable, salad, tasty garlic bread and the wonderful "meat sauce" which we could slather on anything or eat straight from the bowl. Yum Yum. I would highly recommend this fun, congenial restaurant for family, friends, and aliens alike. We even brought back postcards of the aliens to share our experience. I wish someone would hijack this funny idea to the US and franchise it. The meat sauce and garlic bread. Fresh and simple alien comfort food.

Only downfall is that it is too small! Very busy place, and I know why...this place is AWESOME. Best prices in NF. Everytime we go there, this is a MUST. Next time we are going to try and get in at lunch of supper. The menu is extensive and over all just a great place. Service is quick and food is wonderful. Check this place out first. Your pocket book will thank you!

We went here because our kids thought it was soooo cool that is was a "spaceship" so we were hesitant but decided to go in.
Decor isn't fancy but comfortable. Kept the kids amused. They brought stuff for the kids to color with.
An extensive menu as well, it was hard to choose because everything looked so good.
The service was great so was the food.

After staying close to the tourist area to eat, and paying ridiculous amounts of money for not so great food, we decided to venture (by car) down Lundy's Lane. After reading the review of the Flying Saucer before we left for our trip, we knew it was recommended by most. And now we know why! Excellent food, great portions, great prices! You can pay 15 bucks for an omelette near Clifton Hill, or you can take 10 minutes, drive to the Flying Saucer and get an awesome breakfast for under $6. Very busy place, I suggest going around 9:30...when we left around 10:30 the place was lined up out the door. My husband ordered the E.T. special...he highly recommends it...tons of food. My son ordered the .99 cent special and it was plenty for him (no meat included..just eggs, toast and homefries) Think twice about ordering large drinks, cups are HUGE...my son drank waaaaaaaay too much chocolate milk. The platters that the food is served on are extra large as well.

Service is always good, and so is the food.We go there quite a few times during the year.I love the Chili Dogs

My husband and I absolutely love this restaurant. We at their everyday of our vacation. When you ask for a large chocolate milk, they seriously mean large. Well worth the price and the visit. We are going back to Niagara Falls this year, and I am so looking forward to going back to this restaurant.

I have lived in the Niagara Area for years. Locals flock to the Flying Saucer because the food is great, the portions are great and the price is great! End of story!
For the most psrt, there is consistency, flavour, satisfaction and financial reward! It's affordable.
The flying saucer is one of the few, original, fast food drive-inns still functioning in North America!
After the fifties and sixties, most drive-Inns closed. The Flying aucer has not missed a beat in all those years.
The Flying Saucer was and continues to be a family run business that are noted for stong work ethics, customer service, long hours dedication and maintenance of a family and community tradition.
Now tell me how many other establishments have managed this for so long? Most have folded and disappeared! When the local citizens line up every morning, lucnh hour and evening, you have a very distinct message! This place is a local favourite for a reason!
Look for the cars, the lines, the uniqueness, the value, the price and the recommendations! Look for a faqmily run operation that dedicates itself to total service and top food delivery. Now you have the idea.

3rd time to niagara falls and very upset i didnt find this place sooner!! big portions and well worth every penny! im scared to try anywehre else because of the great deals and good food here

My experience there was a good one. Even though there are a few people on this site who thought otherwise. I just guess I was there on a good day, and lucked-out on a realy good breakfast, (ham, eggs, and toast. and good coffee too). I look foward to visiting Canada again and Niagara Falls in the future. And I'll be paying the F.S. Restaruant another visit...

My family and I went to the Flying Saucer while on vacation last week. Decided to try this place after reading the posting from others on this website. We greatly enjoyed our meals. The portions are huge. My kids had the E.T. Breakfast and my husband and I both had burgers. Everything was cooked to perfection. The service was great. The waitress was very nice and we didn't have to wait long for our food. It's only about a 5-10 minute drive from the Niagara Falls area and so easy to get to especially if your not familiar with the area, as we were. Would definitely go back the next time I'm in town.
