There are several restaurants in Niagara Falls, Canada, of course, which have chosen to capitalize on one of the world's most famous scenic vistas.

For those who like to view and chew, here's a taste of where to do it.
Edgewater's Tap & Grill is one of the Niagara Parks Commission's restaurants. The second-floor dining room features indoor and outdoor dining. Farther upriver, overlooking the American Falls across the gorge, stands The Secret Garden . Several hotels on Fallsview Boulevard at the top of the bluff overlooking the Falls have restaurants on their upper floors. Try The Watermark Restaurant on the 34th floor of the Hilton Hotel or Terrapin Grille, the Niagara Falls Marriott Fallsview's restaurant . Finally, the two observation towers each have a fallsview dining room. The Konica Minolta Tower Centre, which hosts the Ramada Plaza Fallsview Hotel, has the Pinnacle Restaurant. You'll find this retro structure tucked in between recently constructed high-rise blocks, but don't be fooled the views from the hotel rooms, observation deck, and restaurant are unobstructed. The distinctive Skylon Tower  has a revolving restaurant that completes each revolution in 1 hour, giving you a view of the Falls for approximately half that time.

Edgewater's Tap & Grill AMERICAN CUISINE If you want to dine almost within reach of the Falls in the open air rather than sealed behind glass at the top of a mutli-story tower, head to Edgewater's on a warm day and rest your weary bones on their huge second-floor patio. The balcony railings are bursting with flower-bedecked planters throughout the summer months, and breezes waft around the shaded deck. The menu features sturdy, reliable North American fare, such as half a barbecued chicken with french fries and baked beans, or grilled sirloin steak. Try the deep fried calamari tender meat enveloped in a crisp batter. The spring rolls are tasty, too. During the busiest season, June until August, aim for an early lunch or dinner before the crowds arrive. You'll get your pick of the tables and by extension the best views. Downstairs on the main floor is the more casual Riverview Market Eatery.

Dining has never been so beautiful with view from the Pinnacle Restaurant, which is located on top of the Konica Minolta Tower Centre. And the meals are equally pleasing to the eye - your lunch includes salad, potato, garden fresh vegetables, dinner rolls, dessert, coffee, tea or soft drink, and a choice of entree.  Entree selections include a 6-ounce charbroiled NY strip steak, 6-ounce boneless grain-fed chicken breast, or 6-ounce roasted Atlantic salmon with teriyaki glaze.  And don't forget to bring a camera - before or after your meal, you'll be able to view the scenery from the Konica Minolta Tower's observation deck.

Of these offerings, the better food is probably found at Watermark and Terrapin Grille, but expect to pay dearly for it. Reservations are recommended at all of these locations to avoid disappointment. Check the time of the illuminations before booking if you intend for one to be an integral part of your dinner.
